We decided to put the Giant Pandas first on our list, as these guys have become the world symbol for endangered animals. First of all, we think that they’re name should be changed from ‘Giant Pandas’ to ‘Adorable Giant Pandas’ because, well, they’re simply adorable. The Giant Pandas are naturally found in south-central China, and they feed mainly on bamboo and live in the rainforests. In fact, they eat around 26 to 84 pounds of bamboo a day! Unfortunately as forest area shrunk due to human activity, so did the number of pandas. They’re loss of habitat is directly linked with tree removals, used for farming and logging operations. They’re level of threat is really high, and it comes with no surprise that they’re the symbol of endangered animals. Currently, the Giant Panda tragically stands at approximately 1600, and if we don’t do anything about that, within the next few years they may become extinct.
