While they’re not as endangered as the Giant Panda and Tree Kangaroo, the population of these guys is definitely declining with time, and they’re listed as endangered according to various sources. While they’re mostly found in Washington and Great Basin, the population of the Pygmy Rabbit is reducing because of a loss of their habitat that is mainly due to human intervention. Their habitats are converted for farming purposes, and fires are another big natural threat to them. These adorable rabbits weigh less then 1 pound, and are the smallest rabbits found in North America. While these little fellas have the ability to breed at the young age of one years old, it seems that they could be easily saved from extinction. However it appears that human rate of their habitat destruction is much faster, and it comes with no surprise that these Rabbits are gradually disappearing from our earth.
